The fifth entry in the popular Pro Skater series, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, has just been given a new gameplay trailer appearing to show in-game footage of the upcoming current-gen title. A cast of varied individuals and odd-ball stand-out’s aside, it’s been confirmed that one of the series’ recent staples – the ability to create your own skate park, albeit alter the apparatus and what’s contained within it – will make a return along with what is being described as an ‘expansive, seamless online multiplayer’ mode brand new to the series. Check it out below and see if you can spot anything awkwardly unusual about the rather rugged animation on show.
According to Activision’s latest press release:
“You can quickly jump into the action with up to 20 friends and challengers at one time. Pretty much everything you could do in single player in past THPS games, you can now do online with friends in THPS5, like missions, unlocking new content and leveling up…or if your skills are on point, go head-to-head against all takers in competitive matches.“
It’s important to note however that, sadly, online will not feature for past-generation iterations either on Xbox 360 or PS3 with a scheduled release on these platforms unconfirmed at this time. For Sony fans in general, who may want to invest in some long overdue skating be it for either PS3 or PS4, players can get their hands on console-exclusive customization heads in the form of renowned Sony mascots Ratchet, Sweet Tooth, and Sackboy as the official Playstaion blog revealed to coincide with the new trailer. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 is scheduled for release first on PS4 and Xbox One on October 2nd in Europe.
