It’s been a rough start for the highly anticipated Street Fighter V Beta. The fighting game’s online multiplayer test launched last night, but many players have been met with nothing but error messages when attempting to get past the title screen. The Capcom Unity forums have an ongoing thread addressing player issues and updates to the beta as the developers attempt to fix the situation.
We apologize for the ongoing issues that users have been experiencing with the SFV beta test. In order to allow us to fix the issues as quickly as possible, we are going to initiate a period of extended maintenance, during which time the beta will be unavailable to all users. We will let you know the date on which the closed beta test will re-open once all problems have been fixed. We sincerely apologize for having to bring this unfortunate news to you. Thank you for your patience. Please stay tuned for further updates.
Use of the word date implies this isn’t a situation that can be fixed in the space of a few hours, and may take several days to be resolved. The Street Fighter V beta test was intended to run for five days from today, but will be extended to make up for lost time once the issues are sorted out. You can follow the official Street Fighter twitter, or series producer Yoshinori Ono for more information on the beta’s current status.
