Could a new Valkyria Chronicles game be in the works? A new trademark for ‘Aoki Kakumei no Valkyria‘ or ‘Valkyria of the Blue Revolution‘ has been filed by SEGA studios in Japan. The fact that blue is a very prominent colour in the series may be the biggest indicator of a new entry to the Valkyria Chronicles series. Blue is the colour of ‘ragnite,’ a resource which the factions of Valkyria Chronicles are waging war over and it’s also the colour of the Gallian military uniform.

The original Valkyria Chronicles was released on the PS3 in 2008 and was recently ported to PC. Unfortunately, the latest in the series (Valkyria Chronicles III for the PSP) did not see a localised version. Perhaps SEGA might have further plans for the earlier entries if the new game spells a renewed interest in the series from the West. Or perhaps this is even a new IP from SEGA…

The gameplay in first game ain’t bad. But story is a bit cliche. I do hope they will more games in the series. We need more tactical games.
