PlayStation 4 update 3.00 launches tomorrow. The system software update will add a ton of highly requested new functionality to the PS4 system. The SHARE button now lets gamers stream their gameplay to YouTube (in addition to the Twitch and Ustream options already in place). 10 second video clips can also be shared on Twitter now. People on your friends list can request a Share Play session or a live stream if they spot you playing a game they’re interested in.
Things are getting even more social with the introduction of Communities. Anybody can create their own message board for a game or genre, and the group can post discussions, join party sessions for games, and share screenshots. Speaking of screenshots, players will now have the option of higher quality PNG images in addition to the JPEG format.
The last notable point is that PlayStation Plus subscribers will have 10 gigabytes of online storage for their save files. PS Plus also has its own section on the PS4’s home screen, letting subscribers see what deals are on offer, as well as everything in their Instant Game Collection.
