Today, Konami released the November update for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It adds the option to construct a 3rd Forward Operating Base, as well as new development options including weapons for online, and gun cameras to fight intruders.
Notably however is one feature that the Phantom Pain patch notes do not list…
Towards the end of the game, a fan favorite character leaves Mother Base for good. This NPC was an immensely useful asset for players, and this unceremonious exit frustrated many who wanted to keep the gameplay advantages of keeping this supporting cast member around.
Well now fans can worry no more:
Welcome back to Mother Base, Huey!
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain received an 8/10 score in our review. We also had plenty to say on its story, including the scene where Quiet…is…killed off…?
I fucked up, shut it down!
So fans have discovered that you can now bring back Quiet after her untimely (though missable) demise. It’s quite simple: replay Mission 11 “Cloaked in Silence” in which you duel the lady sniper. Win against her non-lethally (supply drop is effective and hilarious). Do this Seven times. After completing it on the sixth go, the [REPLAY] label on the mission will change to [REUNION]. Do it once more, and Quiet will finally be back on Mother Base.
Also I think there’s something in there about a truck parked near the S.S. Anne.
