Level 5 have finally announced their next console game. It’s Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom and it’s coming exclusively to Playstation 4. The game was announced during the PlayStation Experience 2015 and features a brand new cast of characters. Some bad news and some good news. Studio Ghibli will not be returning from the first Ni No Kuni to add their iconic anime cutscenes to the game but Joe Hisaishi will return to compose the game’s soundtrack.
Shortly after the Playstation experience, Sony released a developer diary with Akihiro Hino, CEO of Level 5, where he stated:
“I can say that the sequel is a huge improvement to the first. We’re taking on a lot more challenges than before, so we can bring new features to fruition. The sequel fulfills the ambitions we had after the first game’s completion. You can expect deeper stories, rich in dramatic sequences you wouldn’t have expected from the first game. The story is about a young boy’s journey to become King, through which he experiences many hardships, making both friends and enemies along the way. He’ll receive help and provide even more, all contributing to his growth as a person and as a King. We’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished in this story.”
No release date for the game has been set but you can watch the announcement trailer here.
