After a series of rumors and speculations as to whether or not Xbox One would follow in PS4’s footsteps and offer up a newer, upgraded version to its system, Microsoft have today announced a new 1TB Xbox One model. Better yet, the larger hard drive is now an SSHD, a Solid State Hybrid Drive – claiming that it will allow the system to boot games up to 20% faster over the original 2013 model. Along with updates to performance and energy-saving efficiency, the console comes complete in a matte finish but is also bundled together with the new wireless Elite controller, which was first shown off at this year’s E3.
Microsoft have also announced – by way of stating ‘we know that having options is important to our fans’ – that for those simply looking for a new peripheral in the form of a controller (a no-show for Kinect again, it seems), players can also get their hands on a limited edition Lunar White Wireless Controller, pictured below.
The 1TB model will be available simultaneously worldwide starting November, with an expected retail price of $500 in the US. The Lunar White controller is expected to be priced at $65. Unfortunately, those of you in America who might be interested will find both items will only be available for purchase at retail at GameStop.
