“Weeelllllll Excuse Me Netflix”
Hailed as one of the most iconic video game franchises of all time, The Legend Of Zelda has had the live action adaptations by fans for several years but now media streaming purveyors Netflix has reportedly stepped up to deliver their own Original series surrounding the video game legacy reports The Wall Street Journal.
Whilst still in the early stages of development they do have people on board familiar with the material of the game series focused around the titular character Link questing to save the Princess Zelda and furthermore the kingdom of Hyrule. They are currently now on the look out for writers to help bring this particular vision to life and it has been said by representatives at Netflix that the series is looking to take “Game Of Thrones for a family audience” approach for the material.
With Nintendo being notorious for being very protective over their Intellectual property, and such previous attempts being more miss and less hit (see Mario Bros live action movie adaptation) it shows that the company has some faith for Netflix brand and may bring some a sigh of relief as they too will be working alongside them during the development process.
Though between Netflix looking for writers for the series and Nintendo possibly pulling out at anytime the project looks like is taking an Octorok blast to the balls, there’s a possibility that this may be dead before its started. let’s hope that this isn’t the case though as we’re going to get either one hell of an adaptation or one of the best train wrecks seen in recent years.
