PlayStation Vita exclusive Gravity Rush was a cult hit somewhat hampered by its platform’s lack of popularity. Today at their pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan revealed that Gravity Rush Remastered will be making its way to PlayStation 4, giving a new audience the chance to experience the cel-shaded physics-bending platformer. The Japanese trailer announced that the game would release on PS4 on the 10th of December. As for Europe, the game will be out on the 10th of February. This remaster will be handled by the acclaimed BluePoint Games (Metal Gear Solid HD Collection) and will include all 3 DLC packs released for the original Vita game.
Gravity Rush released exclusively for the PlayStation Vita in 2012. Developed by SCE Japan Studio and the creators of Japanese horror series Siren, the game starred an amnesiac young woman called Kat. The game focuses on her gravity-shifting power, allowing her to fall in any direction the player pleases, and using this physics-bending technique to traverse bizarre cityscapes and strike enemies. Kat was also featured as a downloadable fighter in crossover brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
A sequel to Gravity Rush was teased at Tokyo Game Show a few years ago, but was today confirmed as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Gravity Rush 2 is set to release in 2016, and sees Kat return in glorious new-generation visuals. You can watch the sequel’s trailer below.
